Digital Drawing Club

In France, after the Second World War, Picasso created Still Life works at a time when he was preoccupied by death and mortality. The tradition of Vanitas and Momento Mori, with it's roots in Dutch and Spanish art, are meditations of grief and loss, fused with political resistance. Life isn't so still! Skulls, clocks, candles, rotting fruit with insects, and flowers all symbolize the temporal nature of life.

Bring an object to add to the Still Life that represents the fragility of time, or that's personally symbolic to you. Bring your smartphone or tablet/iPad to draw. Download FREE Apple/IOS drawing software by Appikiko (locally designed!), or Sketchbook on Android. $10 includes beverage.

Class is casual.. drop-in or out as you wish, or stay for it all.
